Time-To-Event Modelling In Fintech Event DN Connects: iwoca meetup

Over 40 members of the Data and AI community joined us for DN Connects at iwoca’s great space in London on Thursday 4 April to discuss Time-to-event Modelling in Fintech.

Kelly O’Connell and Lee Tomlinson, Data Scientists at iwoca, outlined their motivation for developing a Time-to-event model and explained the benefits they see for their business and Fintech, before presenting their findings from different projects using data to simulate the practical application of Time-to-event modelling.

Harry Butcher, event organiser and talent engagement partner at Data Ninjas, commented on the success of the event:

“It was great to gain a solid understanding of Time-to-event modelling and I think our guests really enjoyed hearing from the iwoca team as they showcased their offering.

There were interesting discussions and ideas shared between people from different areas of Data Science, all looking to learn from each other and develop their careers; and that’s what DN Connects is all about for us – it’s a great way to bring the Data and AI community together.”

Daniel Bhugon, Senior Data Scientist at Aire, described the format of the event as “accessible” and “open”:

“I like the fact that the data scientists pitched the talk to be accessible to a technical audience who might not necessarily be familiar with the area, and applaud them for engaging in an open conversation about their modelling decisions. It was also great to see a co-founder there and being quite hands-on with the data science work.”

Please get in touch with Harry if you’re interested in hosting a future DN Connects event, and follow us on Social Media for updates on how to register for our next meetup.
